I thought Madara would be like the Templars with the Moon-Eye aka Eye-Abstergo plan o.o, then out of nowhere comes this ancient precursor being, the originator of chakra/Isu genes in the world, who is vengeful at them and wants to take over the world.
(Sorry for my english, it's not my mother language)
Haha yeah, I was so shocked when I discovered their uncanny parallels since it just so happens both are two of my favorite franchises. I've loved Naruto years before Assassin's Creed even came out. Also, they both follow the assassin/ninja archetype, but it's clear that the producers of both had entirely different ideas. Naruto is a far more idealistic series, yet somehow the themes really come back together to be so starkly similar.
I think Madara and Obito are more like Templars than Sasuke though since their solution to peace was through control and illusions, whereas Sasuke's revolution idea seemed to revolve more about uniting the world through their hatred of him, which is a slightly different theme.
Even their backstories are similar, though both are based on the Bible.
Then there's these lines:
"It's because we are ninja. We are those that endure pain".- Naruto Uzumaki
"The life of an Assassin is pain. We suffer it. We inflict it. We watch it happen... all in the hopes that some day it will all mean something". - Ezio Auditore to Shao Jun
Not to sound edgy hehe :3, but this is another underlying common theme that I think a lot of people might miss because it's more subtle compared to all the other (equally as significant) stuff about mutual understanding, and bonds, and love, and peace, and stuff. Also fun fact: ninja (忍者, "endure" + "-er") literally means "endurer" or "one who endures" hence Naruto's quote.
Also Itachi has a profound line about truth, illusions, and preconceptions that echo the Assassin maxim a lot.
