Madeleine de L'Isle (1732 - 1777) was the head of the Templar Order in Louisiana, operating under the alias of the "Company Man".

She was the wife of a wealthy French merchant, Philippe Olivier de Grandpré and the stepmother of the Assassin Aveline de Grandpré.
Biography
Early life
Madeleine was born in New Orleans in 1732, an esteemed daughter to a wealthy merchant family.
Marriage to Philippe
In 1752, Madeleine married Philippe Olivier de Grandpré, to benefit her own family's business and use the association to conceal her Templar goals. Her identity as a member of the Templars was kept secret to her family. Madeleine soon noticed that her stepdaughter Aveline showed great potential, and she saw her as a perfect member for the Templar Order, beginning to groom her for induction.
Manipulating Aveline
In 1757, Madeleine arranged for Aveline's mother Jeanne to be transported south to Mexico, allowing Madeleine to raise Aveline as her own. After suspecting that Aveline had joined the Assassins, she used her relationship with the Assassin mentor Agaté to uncover information relating to the Brotherhood's activities. This helped Madeleine secure the leadership of the Templar Order and take on the alias of the "Company Man".
Chichen Itza
In 1764, Madeleine discovered proof that a First Civilization artifact was located in Chichen Itza, and devised a plan to divert slaves and vagrants from Louisiana and the Caribbean to a work camp in Chichen Itza to excavata these artifacts. She gave control of the operation to her right hand man, Rafael Joaquín de Ferrer.
Death
In 1777, after Madeleine's husband Philippe discovered Madeleine's true identity and the interference of the Templars in his business, she poisoned him. Following this, Aveline finally discovered that the "Company Man", the person she had been searching for, was, in fact, Madeleine. Aveline confronted Madeleine in their mansion, who told her that she genuinely cared for Aveline and attempted to persuade her to join the Templars.
Aveline agreed, and Madeleine inducted her into the Order inside Saint Louis Cathedral. However, this was merely a ploy to allow Aveline to destroy the Templars from within. After Madeleine took the artifact Aveline had recovered from Chichen Itza, it failed to work as she'd intended it to and grew frustrated.
Aveline assassinated all the Templars present and confronted Madeleine, who asked why she had done what she had. Aveline responded that she had two loving parents, none of which were Madeleine, and blamed Madeleine for having secretly killed her father with poision, enslaved her mother and attempted to force Aveline into the Templar Order. Madeleine insisted that it was the benefit of humanity, that their purpose in life was work, but Aveline refused to serve Madeleine and assassinated her.
Madeleine was laid to rest in Saint Louis Cathedral.
