William Thompson (1736 – 1781) was an Irish-born Brigadier General in the Continental Army.
In 1776, he set out to liberate Quebec from the British Army, despite the fact that the citizens of Quebec had never asked for such an action. The Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton sent his apprentices to make sure their voices would be heard.[1]
