Temple of Demeter

The Temple of Demeter was a small temple in Gortyn, Messara on the Greek island of Krete. It was dedicated to Demeter, the goddess of fertile land and agriculture, who was honored for introducing a number of discoveries to the Kretans.

During the Peloponnesian War the temple was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[1]
