Roussis was a Greek captain who lived in Egypt during the reign of Ptolemy XIII.

Around 48 BCE, Roussis wrote a letter of complaint to the Zephyros Stables, disputing the purchase of two horses, Abraxas and Santana. He claimed that though he had lamented the death of Prasina Green's lead racer Icarus while at the pub, that did not meant he desired to purchase either animal.[1]

He was an acquaintance of the scholar Merkes who, upon the discovery of a cache of documents in the Red Pyramid, remarked that he should send for Roussis to help cart the scrolls back to Alexandria.[2] While stationed at Nitria, Roussis received an order to rally the soldiers from all four stations around the natron mine and leave for Faiyum as soon as possible, leaving behind whatever he deemed dispensable.[3]
