The Rose Scepter

The Rose Scepter was a scepter held by the queens of France.

History[edit | edit source]

A pink scepter with a head resembling a rose, it was the most important relic for the coronation of the queen of France, symbolizing the purity expected of the queen. In 1610, Marie de' Medici was crowned with it, after which it disappeared. Wanting to be the last queen to hold it, Marie was behind the disappearance and had the scepter buried with her in Saint-Denis. In 1794, during the French Revolution, raiders looted the royal tombs in Saint-Denis, and the Assassin Arno Dorian was able to access Marie's tomb and retrieve the scepter, keeping it away from the raiders. Arno kept the scepter, using it as a weapon.[1]
