Mundus Subterraneus, quo universae denique naturae divitiae is a scientific textbook written by Athanasius Kircher, founder of Egyptology, and published in 1665.

In the late 17th century, Jamaica's Governor Peter Beckford owned a copy of the Solaris image from Mundus Subterraneus. Sometime between 1715 and 1722, the pirate-turned-Assassin Edward Kenway collected the copy for himself.[1]

In 2013, staff at Abstergo Entertainment's Montreal facility kept several copies of the book throughout the office.[1] These copies could still be found on shelves the next year.[2]
