Michael Antonakos (born 1982) is a Greek actor who provided the voice for the character Alexios in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.

Early life[edit | edit source]
Michael Antonakos was born on 21 October 1982 in Athens, Greece. At the age of three, he moved to Canada with his family. In his youth, he performed primarily with the Rocky Mountain Shakespeare Company, in Lake Louise, Alberta.[1]
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey[edit | edit source]
Before May 2017, Ubisoft approached Michael to voice the character of Alexios in the then-upcoming Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.[2] In the auditioning phase, Ubisoft gave him a concept image of Alexios to build a voice and character around. Michael cited Ezio Auditore, Batman, and Wolverine as inspirations for the voice of the character. After being officially hired and given a full backstory about Alexios, Michael began further developing his portrayal. He found Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" to be a great driving force behind finding Alexios' physicality.[3] When revealed not to be the canon character, Michael expressed disappointment but remained jovial about the matter.[4]

He has been married to actor and costume designer Tara Newstead since 2 April 2011.[1] The couple have a child together (born c. 2016).[3] The couple moved to Vancouver in 2019, and while staying at a friend's cabin in August, they met a cougar who trapped them inside until it left.[5]
