Louis de Beaumont, 2nd Count de Lerín (1430 – 6 November 1508) was the Count of Lerín and of Viana. Although he was a Navarrese noble, he was an ally of King Ferdinand II of Aragon, and led the pro-Aragonese Beaumont faction in Navarre that centered on his family in opposition to the Agramont faction supporting the existing royal family.[1]
In March 1507, Viana was besieged by the Navarrese army under leadership of Cesare Borgia, brother-in-law to King John III of Navarre. The following siege proved to be a defeat for Louis de Beaumont, despite the assassination of Cesare Borgia by the Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze, and Viana was lost to the Kingdom of Navarre.[2] Charged with treason and sentenced to death, Louis was able to escape to Aragon, where he died the following year.[1]
