Hertha was an Anglo-Saxon flyter who lived in the city of Jorvik during the late 9th century.
In the 870s, Hertha met and encountered the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir. Standing on a wall towering over the shieldmaiden, Hertha challenged her to a flyting duel, which she lost.[1]
