Alexander Mitchell Palmer

Alexander Mitchell Palmer (4 May 1872 – 11 May 1936), better known as A. Mitchell Palmer, was Attorney General of the United States from 1919 to 1921. [citation needed]

During his tenure as Attorney General, Palmer supervised the controversial Palmer Raids during the Red Scare, where numerous Russian immigrants were captured and deported out of fear for radical leftism. [citation needed]
