Francesco I Sforza (23 July 1401 – 8 March 1466) was an Italian condottiero and the first duke of Milan belonging to the Sforza family. His father was Muzio Sforza. Among his children were his two sons who succeeded him, Galeazzo Maria and, later, Ludovico; as well as Cardinal Ascanio.

In 2012, he was included in a mnemonic set in Abstergo Industries' Project Legacy.[1]
