As the daughter of Loki and Angrboda, her lineage has bestowed upon her several supernatural abilities which she has developed into awesome powers exceeding those of either parent. When Odin granted Hel authority over Niflheim as more of a curse than a kindness, she embraced his double-edged gift and transformed it into the most feared of the Nine Worlds.
