Camilla was a courtesan living in Naples during the time of the Italian Renaissance.
Biography[edit | edit source]
In 1505 after the Liberation of Rome, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Niccolò Machiavelli, and Leonardo da Vinci traveled to Naples to discern the location of Micheletto Corella. After an hour of interrogations with no success, the group had almost given up when Camilla approached them. At first, Machiavelli waved her away, claiming not to be interested, but Camilla soon caught their attention by mentioning Micheletto's name.[1]
However, Camilla would not give up the information she held without first being compensated with fifteen ducats. After being paid, she told the group that Micheletto had spent the night with her and ran off at dawn without paying. One of the employees of the brothel had followed him to the docks, where he found out that Micheletto was setting sail for Valencia.[1]
