Bernardino was the abbot of Camerino and an outspoken ally against the Borgia.

During the liberation of Rome, Abbot Bernardino actively worked against the Borgia in Camerino, eventually raising the suspicion of the Church, who sent mercenaries to restrain him. The Italian Assassins' Mentor Ezio Auditore sent an Assassin team to meet the abbot and ask for his assistance in their ambush of the mercenaries. Bernardino offered every resource he had available. With their ambush successful, Bernardino was safe and continued to send information from Camerino to the Assassins.[1]
