Union troops in Beaufort, 1862

Beaufort is a city in South Carolina, United States.

History[edit | edit source]

Following the Battle of Port Royal in 1862, the city was occupied by Union forces.[1]

In 2012, a photograph of Union forces taking Beaufort was later acquired by the Assassin Clay Kaczmarek and hidden in the Animus for his successor, Desmond Miles to find. Desmond did so in September of that year.[2] The picture contained a hidden Caesar cipher reading "Ancient city, Rajastan, India, irradiated by PoE."[1]
