Exactly. I think Ubisoft may pull a Valve on us - connecting two worlds by two companies in the game (Valve: Aperture Science and Black Mesa; Ubisoft: Blume Corporation and Abstergo Industries).
I haven't played much of the Far Cry series, but the connections in it to Assassin's Creed seem bigger than just easter eggs as well.
