SORRY FOR MY BAD ENGLISH, I SUCK AT THIS!
In the last Animus scene, Callum is "visited" by his ancestors (his mom, his dad, Aguilar himself, the one of Louisiana, one more male assassin) and other assassins (Sophie's possible ancestor and some monks behind the scene). The main question is... why did that happen?
First of all, I want to remind you that something similar happened in Revelations, when Ezio saw Desmond through the Apple of Eden. Epic, but Callum's case is special and I'm going to tell you why. You may think "it's the bleeding effect combined with Lynch's memories" or "it's the bleeding effect" and I would agree with you if it wasn't for one little detail: Callum's mom.
Ezio could speak to Desmond because the Apple knew he (Desmond) would revive Auditore's memories. Remember, this Apples can "see" what it will be, they can predict the future (Calculations and stuff). But in the movie it's the animus what can make possible the conversation between Callum and his dead mom. DEAD mom. No time machine, no portal, no Apple was used for this, just an ordinary Animus machine.
I hope you see my point. A conversation of such nature is impossible without a "powerful and ancient" artifact. It was not a recording, it was not a memory. It was pure interaction between a dead person and one alive.
Cal's first hallucinations were Aguilar looking at him, later he started to fight him. Is it my idea or Aguilar's "soul" was testing him? That's not an ordinary bleeding effect... it's more than that.
What if there's a world beyond death in the AC universe? What if this phantoms used the Animus to participate in Cal's initiation?
Or maybe... what if the human body could preserve MORE than our ancestors' memories?
What do you think?<ac_metadata title="*SPOILERS* Callum and the Assassins."> </ac_metadata>
