| The guild was formed in 1500 by [[Niccolò Machiavelli]], who had moved to [[Rome]] to directly confront the [[Templars]] in their headquarters. Machiavelli got in contact with [[Fabio Orsini]], who lent an unused storeroom on [[Tiber Island]] to him, which became the guild's location. Soon after its formation, [[Ezio Auditore da Firenze]] moved to Rome as well, after his hometown of [[Monteriggioni]] was [[Fall of Monteriggioni|ambushed]] by the Borgia; the leading body of the Templars.

| Successfully forming a Guild, Ezio Auditore established contact with the Roman Underground (the [[Courtesan]]s, [[Thieves]] and [[Mercenaries]]) and restored each faction, successfully providing the Guild with powerful allies and resources.

In addition to killing several key generals and right-hand men of [[Cesare Borgia]], Ezio, now [[Grand Master of the Assassin's Order|the Mentor]], intended to assassinate both Cesare and [[Rodrigo Borgia]]. In the aftermath, Rodrigo died by Cesare's hand and the Assassins had successfully retrieved [[The Apple of Eden|the Apple of Eden]]. In the following months, the Roman Guild constantly worked on weakening Cesare's remaining supporters until his eventual arrest.
