Otto I (912 – 973), also known as Otto the Great, was King of Germany from 936 and Holy Roman Emperor from 962 to his death.

At some point, he acquired the Devotion prong of the Trident of Eden.

Biography[edit | edit source]

During his reign, Otto met with the Danish king Harald Bluetooth, following which the latter converted to Christianity in 965. As a gift, he passed his ornate dagger, in actuality a piece of the Trident of Eden, to his bishop Poppa, whom then baptized Harald and in turn gifted the dagger to.[1]
