Nottingham (Old English: Snotingham) is a city and county town of Nottinghamshire, England.

In 876, Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan was requested by her old friend, Vili Hemmingson, to visit him and his father, Hemming Jarl. Upon her arrival in Snotingham, Snotinghamscire, Eivor was greeted by the townspeople and soon found herself in contact with Hemming's advisor and old friend, Trygve. Looking for Vili and Hemming Jarl, Eivor was told by Trygve that both men were preparing to siege Ulkerthorpe Fort and defeat the invading Picts in battle. Eivor offered her assistance and both she and Trygve decided to venture towards the Clan Hemmingsons base. Thus, Eivor and Trygve left the town to aid the upcoming siege.[1]
