Hylas (died 429 BCE) was a Greek man living in the village of Potidaia, Makedonia during the 5th century BCE.

History[edit | edit source]

When an illness swept through the village, claiming victims fast, the Magistrate of Potidaia had the infected Hylas buried even before he had died. Hylas dug his way out, and met a man called the Watcher, who told Hylas about the Order, and recruited him.[1]

Obsessed with vengeance against the Magistrate, Hylas left a note telling others to follow in his tracks, and join the Order. This note led the would-be-followers to the Aristeas Military Camp and a relic Hylas had hid there. Ultimately, this note led to the demise of Echion the Watcher.[1]

Hylas also discovered and stole the Magistrate's 'secret stash', and left a note bragging about it on a message board, where the Spartan misthios Kassandra saw it. She subsequently hunted down Hylas and slew him, claiming the treasure.[2]
