Folkestone (Old English: Folcanstan), is a port town on the southern coast of Kent, England.
Circa 874, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan met the Abbot of Cent, Cynebert, and the Hidden One Basim in the town, reporting the news of thegn Tedmund being chosen by King Aelfred to be the next ealdorman of Cent. The trio then devised a plan to capture Tedmund so Cynebert could fake a rescue and cause Tedmund's life to be indebted to him.[1]
