Dandelion Puff was a fox who was owned by an Anglo-Saxon woman in Oxenefordscire during the 9th century, believed by her owner to be a dog.
Biography[edit | edit source]
In the 870s, Dandelion and her owner's home suffered a fire outbreak. The fox was stranded in the home while her owner escaped with much injuries. However, she was rescued and escorted to safety with the help of the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir. As Dandelion's owner succumbed to her injuries, she entrusted the fox to Eivor to in her settlement of Ravensthorpe in Mercia.[1]
