The player is able to climb to the top of the Colosseum, as it had been shown that [[Ezio Auditore da Firenze]] and his apprenticed [[Assassins]] scaled it in 1503. It is also revealed to be one of the secret locations in [[Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood]].{{fact}} Both pieces of Colosseum artwork shown thus far show executions by crucifixion taking place inside, though the identities of the victims and the reason for their executions are currently not known. These depictions are historically inaccurate, since by the [[Renaissance]], crucifixions had long ago fallen out of fashion in favor of burning at the stake. During the time when the [[Borgia|Borgia family]] ruled Rome the Colosseum became dilapidated and began to crumble. It is unknown if during Ezio's restoration of the city the Colosseum was also restored. In ''Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood'' it is a location of one of [[Subject 16|Subject 16's]] puzzles.
