A blood bomb is a form of diversionary explosive that covers victims in a thick spray of blood, briefly stunning them with the fear that they have just been badly injured.
History[edit | edit source]
In the early 1500s, the Italian Assassins' Mentor Ezio Auditore learned how to craft and use blood bombs, as they could be made with any shell or gunpowder type combined with lamb's blood. The Ottoman Brotherhood had found them to be useful in stopping pursuers and stunning combatants, leaving them open to counter-attacks or aiding in escapes. Alternatively, blood bombs could be used to create distractions since exploding the bomb on the ground created a pool of blood which any guard would investigate.[1]
