Aramis is a village and archaeological site located in northeastern Ethiopia.[1]

In 1997, the American paleontologist Tim D. White led an expedition to the village and unearthed the remains of Australopithecus and Ardipithecus, thus proving a missing link between early and modern humans. Unbeknownst to those involved, the Templar-governed Abstergo Industries had planted the remains near the site to obscure the fact that there was actually no link between archaic hominids and homo sapiens because the Isu had created humanity.[2]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Though not named in the Glyph puzzles from the 2009 video game Assassin's Creed II, Aramis was the place where Tim White conducted his expedition that proved humanity's missing evolutionary link. However, the game erroneously claims White had a single field study in 1997 when he in fact made two trips, in 1992 and then 1994.
