The Birth of an Assassin was a virtual representation of one of Ezio Auditore's genetic memories, relived by Desmond Miles in 2012 through the Animus 1.28.[1]
Description[edit | edit source]
Maria Auditore was about to give birth to her second child.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
A woman was in the process of giving birth at home in bed. She was assisted by two maids, one at the foot of the bed and another at her shoulders.
- Maria: (screams)
The first maid looked between Maria's legs then back at Maria.
- Maid: Spingi! Spingi! (Push! Push!) Di nuovo! (Again!)
- Maria: (yells)
With one last contraction, Maria's child was born. The second maid moved to the foot of the bed to cut the umbilical cord.
- Maid: Si! Si! Brava! (Yes! Yes! Good!)
The maid looked down at the baby.
- Maid: It is a boy!
Despite the happy proclamation, the child still failed to make a sound, and the maid looked to her partner in consternation. Suddenly, Maria's husband burst into the room and rushed to her side.
- Giovanni: Oh, my love! Mi dispiace! (I'm sorry!) I was at the bank when they told me! Did I miss it? Am I too late?
Giovanni saw his son, who still was not breathing.
- Giovanni: Give him here...
He took the boy from the maid and held him.
- Maria: Giovanni...?
- Giovanni: Shhh, my love. It will be alright.
He inclined his head close to his son and spoke to him.
- Giovanni: Tu se un Auditore. Sei un combattente. Perciò combatti! (You are an Auditore. You are a fighter. So fight!)
One of the maids lowered her head. As if listening to his father's words, the baby flailed his limbs and soon began loudly crying.
- Giovanni: Listen to him! A fine set of lungs!
- Maria: And what shall we call him, my love?
Giovanni held his child aloft in celebration as he christened him.
- Giovanni: Ezio! Ezio Auditore da Firenze!
