In 1582, the [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']] member and ''[[Ninja|shinobi]]'' [[Fujibayashi Naoe]] arrived at the temple to find [[Genzaburo]], [[Koshiro]]'s former commander, who sought to kill Koshiro over his part in [[Bessho Harumasa]]'s death. After a heated discussion over Harumasa, they fought each other but Naoe ultimately defeated and killed him. Afterwards, Koshiro came to help but Naoe warned him not to do something reckless again.
