Dr. Long then travelled to the [[Valley of the Kings]] in [[Egypt]], seeking the vault underneath the valley where he believed Apophis was held. The Assassins were hot on his trail and confronted him in one of the chambers beneath the [[Tomb of Tutankhamun]]. Using the Staff, he made the Assassins believe they were in a crimson desert with ominous black storm clouds instead of the painted halls of the tomb complex. He then seemingly transformed to mirror the mythological depictions of Seth before summoning shadow warriors and a sandstorm to attack the Assassins while remaining safe behind an energy shield.
