It's JUST Rome. You can send assassin's on missions outside of Italy but Ezio will not leave rome (except for his villa in the beginning of the games as we saw at e3). Rome will be divided into 4 areas or "districts". The old part of the city which will be chalk full of landmarks, the downtown/newer part of the city which is more modern, the surrounding countryside of rome and finally Tiber Island which will be Ezio's base. As for multiplayer there is definitely a map in rome and one in florence. Hope this helps.
