The Animus places his features into Ezio, so Ezio most likey looked nothing like Desmond. Also you could make the female assassin look like Rosa.

I also noted that the freemasons symbol looks like the Assassins Symbol so the Masons may not be templars but Assassins. Though I would go with the templars being the freemasons. But have some of there members like Ben Franklin could be like informers and Assassins.
