You know, from what I've seen so far of Edward, he's getting dangerously close to upstaging Ezio in my book.

/Dons protective bomb suit and hides in an underground bunker hidden off the coast of Malaysia...or Monaco. One of the two.

But, seriously though, I'm liking Edward's anti-hero stance that I'm seeing so far (I'm in Sequence 2). I always prefer characters who aren't straight-up good or bad, but rather like to slither around in between, playing both sides for fools.
