ACB was not AC3. Ubisoft has said that a "Numbered entry" (AC1, AC2, etc...) will introduce a new protagonist in a new setting. They've also said that AC3 will come out in 2012, where the story takes place.
As for them milking it, yes, they are, but I'm okay with it. Unlike other milked series, like Call of Duty, Ubisoft actually improves their game year after year. It's not just the same thing in a different setting. It's like getting chocolate milk instead of regular.
