			Adéwalé grew up a slave on a Trinidadian sugar plantation. He always had a strong sense of justice, and he was aware from an early age of the wrongness of what was being done to his people. He gained his chance for escape during a pirate raid on the plantation, during which he killed his slave master, looted a crate of sugar cane, and aided the pirates in getting in and out. They accepted him as one of their crew.

			Captured by the Spanish in 1715, Adéwalé made the acquaintance of Edward Kenway. They escaped, freed the other captives, and together they stole a small brig they would name The Jackdaw, and took to the sea as pirates. When the age of piracy was done, he left Kenway’s side to captain his own ship, and continue to take the fight to the Templars.
			Adéwalé would take a prominent role in history, aiding the Maroon Rebellion in Saint Domingué and fighting the Templar-backed Royal Navy at the Siege of Louisbourg.

			Adéwalé’s stoicism and shortness of speech belied a big heart, deep compassion, and respect for life. He was a skilled sailor, a deadly fighter, and archetypal member of the Brotherhood.

			The Sicilian set about building a vast network of spies and informants throughout Egypt, which he used to keep tabs on the Order of the Ancients. Upon his eventual return to Alexandria, Apollodorus made the acquaintance of Aya, and the two worked together to topple the Order. He would aid her and her husband, Bayek of Siwa, in their quest for revenge on many occasions and would remain loyal to them even when Cleopatra turned to the Order of the Ancients’ side.

			Apollodorus was a shrewd courtier and brilliant strategist who could navigate and manipulate the apparatuses of rulership. Though he preferred to work behind the scenes, he was no coward, and had been well trained in the use of arms.

			Mary Read learned her trade in the British Royal Navy, posing for years as a man while she worked as a sailor. It was during her service that she met her first husband. He was killed, however, shortly after they married, and seeing no future for herself in Europe, Mary crossed the Atlantic to the West Indies. She once again began dressing and living as a man, and presented herself as James Kidd, son of the famous, though dubious, pirate, William Kidd.

			Shortly after the founding of the Republic of Nassau, Read met the Assassin, Ah Tabai. Convinced of the righteousness of their creed, Mary was quick in becoming one of them.

			Upon meeting and getting to know Edward Kenway, Mary Read set to work recruiting him into the Caribbean Brotherhood. She aided in his search for The Observatory, describing it as a sort of 'Fountain of Youth,' and convincing him of the danger it posed in the hands of the Templars.

			Mary Read is nimble and elusive, a fierce swordswoman, and a loyal member of the Assassins.

			Malik Al-Sayf was raised from a young age to be an assassin. Skilled in all of their arts, Malik nonetheless was envious of his peer Altaïr's position of favor with Al-Mualim.

			Malik's ill will toward his fellow assassin reached its peak when Altaïr breached the tenets of their Creed in the temple of Solomon and allowed Robert de Sablé to make off with a crucially important relic. An encounter which cost Malik his left arm.

			As Altaïr worked toward redemption, Malik's opinion of him softened, and eventually became one of his most stalwart allies. Al-Sayf came to Altaïr's aid when The Eagle went against Al-Mualim, and deposed the corrupted Assassin Mentor.

			Malik was an exemplar of the Assassin's Creed, and was often placed in positions of leadership in Altaïr's absence. Despite his injury, Malik is still a force to be reckoned with, and a formidable agent of the Brotherhood.

			Lupo Gallego was known throughout Spain as the legendary King of Thieves during the Renaissance. He was the founder and leader of the Spanish Thieves' Guild based out of Madrid, which earned a massive fortune while paying tremendous bribes to corrupt officials and members of the Inquisition to ensure continued operation. Lupo was a reasonable man who was only concerned with profits, never politics.

			Reputed to be the greatest thief who ever lived, accounts state that Lupo was able to pilfer anything, from anyone, at any time without warning or detection. He eventually became the father of two beautiful daughters, Luisa and Rosa, who he trained in the countless secrets of his family business.

			As the Inquisition grew in power, King Ferdinand, through the influence of Torquemada, claimed an example needed to be made in name of the Church. This set in motion a bloody conflict between the Thieves' Guild and the Inquisition soldiers that Lupo knew he could not win alone. In desperate need of allies, Lupo and his Guild sided with the Brotherhood of Assassins, embraced the Creed and never looked back.

			When Torquemada's influence drove the forces of the Reconquista to sack the city of Malaga, all of Tariq's people were killed or enslaved to be sold to Spanish nobles. Not willing to be anyone's slave, and outraged by the Spanish actions, Tariq fled the city.

			Tariq eventually met the Assassins, and joined the Brotherhoodso he could bring justice and freedom to the Muslims of Spain.
