Excalibur was created by Hephaestus, "the maker", during the [[Isu Era]] to bring about the end of the War of Unification.<ref name="ACS" /> It was later taken to Britain in what would become [[England]].<ref name="ACV" />

Excalibur later was owned by the [[Celts|Celtic]] clan called the [[Women of the Mist]] at [[Avalon]]. The sword was used to decide on the next [[The Lady|Lady]] of Avalon, considered a sacred relic towards their people, and a necessary part of their history.<ref name="Chapter 12" /> By the 5th or 6th century, the Sword had become lodged in a stone.
