However, he had a gambling addiction, which led him to owe a favor. He sought to repay the favor by having a guest bribe him for entrance to an upcoming ''{{Wiki|renga}}kai''<ref name="DB">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[Database: Tokubei]]</ref> On the day of the meeting, Tokubei worked and welcomed all guests, including the [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']] members [[Fujibayashi Naoe]] and [[Yasuke]].
