From a young age, Camilleri was enthralled by the stories of {{Wiki|Roald Dahl}}, inspired by Dahl and his many characters, he too became a storyteller. As a child, his mother enrolled him at Masquerade Theatre Arts School as a way to burn off his excess energy. He then spent ten years traveling London, the United Kingdom, and Europe performing all manner of roles. Camilleri's big break was being cast in the UK West End revival performance of {{Wiki|Evita (musical)|''Evita''}}. He then went on to play {{Wiki|Bishop Myriel}} in {{Wiki|Les Misérables (musical)|''Les Misérables''}}, Carlos in {{Wiki|Legally Blonde (musical)|''Legally Blonde''}}, and later portrayed both Rocky Horror and Dr. Frank-N-Furter in ''{{Wiki|The Rocky Horror Show}}''.
