England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, ARE countries... NONE of them has ceased to exist. The are 4 separate countries that are united into one Kingdom. A kingdom is not a country and a country is not a kingdom. I therefore suggest a better name for this article would be "British Isles" or with the exclusion of the island of Ireland I would suggest "Great Britain". Besides if Scotland vote for independence, then name changes are needed anyway... Therefore: I suggest the geographical name of British Isles over the political United Kingdom: one refers to a land mass... the other to Kingdom. One will always apply to the region, the other will not and eventually fade.
