			:Are you sure it was Suleiman? I did some reading, and all I can find is that he was beheaded for not supporting an Egyptian governor in a campaign against Persia. 			:-Ottoman laws are immensely strict when it comes to cowardice and failure. undertaking a critical mission requires the general to "put his head on the line". If the failure is proven to be a fault of the commanding-pasha, Padishah demands his head without even caring his statue or the previous achievements. Same goes for the cowardice and fortune-seeking. the subject is expected to suicide honorably, if not padishah orders a swift death by beheading with a highly sharp kilij. the tradition even ignores blood-relatives or such friends.
