But my wording in the article doesn't mean that the Assassin presence predates the Templars' ''discovery'' of America, but predates the Templars' attempt to establish a rite in America. It was Columbus who exposed it for the European world anyways (though Leif Ericsson was the first) and the expedition was well known by both Assassins and Templars. I suppose "presence" might seem a bit vague in that regard, but I also didn't write this as an absolute fact but what the theory as presented by the transcript is.
