Unless I missed something, I believe this page and the one outlining the battle should be merged with the Battle of Meretun. WP says the Battle of Meretun happened "probably in one of the modern counties of Dorset, Hampshire, or Wiltshire," the latter location being the region that contains the field Bedwyn. WP also notes that Alfred fought and lost a battle against the Vikings here; this is the exact outcome of Meretun which was not too far away, if not in the immediate vicinity. To me, the Battle of Bedwyn seems more of a skirmish or opening salvo of the wider conflict on the field. I also feel that merging would resolve the apparent continuity error currently written in Æthelred I's page where he is wounded by Guthrum's spear in this battle per ''Geirmund's Saga'', but historically fought at and then died from an injury sustained at Meretun.
