Circa 874, the [[Vikings]] [[Eivor Varinsdottir]] and [[Ivarr the Boneless]] brought the defeated King [[Rhodri the Great|Rhodri]] up to Manstone Rock on the hill. There, Ivarr executed Rhodri via the [[blood eagle]] ritual and challenged Eivor to a fight to the death, revealing himself as the murderer of [[Ceolbert]] to guilt the [[shieldmaiden]] into fighting him.
