The region was essentially divided in two by a tributary that flowed into the {{Wiki|Hudson River}}. The northern area was largely untouched by civilization, its elevated terrain populated by beavers and black [[bears]].

South of the tributary stood the settlement itself, easily recognized from afar due to the [[Ships|ship]] that had been beached near the port. Boasting a [[Harbormasters|harbormaster]]'s station and a [[General stores|general store]], St. Nicolas was taken by the [[United Kingdom|British]], who were aided in this endeavor by [[Templars|Templar]] [[Shay Cormac]], during the [[Seven Years' War]].
