In 38 BCE, after the city was plagued by a "[[Curse of the Pharaohs|curse]]", Onnos and a fellow priest, [[Sab]], were tasked to travel to a [[Shrine of Amun|shrine]] of [[Amun]] in the [[Theban Necropolis]] to conduct a ritual to appease the gods. Along the journey, they were attacked by a group of bandits, causing Sab to flee and leave Onnos behind.
