Nagayoshi brought Diogo to the Training Grounds, where Nobutsuna was at, handing Nobunaga's orders to the swordmaster. It was then agreed that Nobunaga would train Diogo as Nobunaga instructed, with the newly appointed retainer first dueling Nagayoshi as a precede using a ''{{Wiki|shinai}}''. Nagayoshi viciously defeated Diogo and later brought him a residence where he would stay at during his period of training.
