	[[Loki]] was a trickster; it was hard to know whose side he was on. He would gladly help the [[Norse mythology\|gods and goddesses]] in their quests, but his undeniable appetite for trickery would always win out, pushing him to betray them. Each drop would burn his flesh, bringing Loki terrible pain. Fortunately for him, his wife, [[Sigyn]], vowed to stay besides him, placing a bowl between the serpent's maw and her lover's face to collect the poison and stop it from freaching him... until she had to empty the bowl, leaving him temporarily unprotected.
