==Mythology==
Kherty was a god of the Egyptian afterlife. In some texts he was the god that served as a ferryman for kings to the afterlife, and also as a ward against demons send by [[Seth]]. In others, he was seen as an incarnation of death itself, being the reason why people's hearts stopped. In the {{Wiki|Coffin Texts}} Kherty is replaced by the god {{Wiki|Aker (deity)|Aker}}.<ref name="WP">{{WP|Kherty}}</ref>

==Legacy==
In the 1st century BCE, a [[Abandoned Temple of Kherty|temple]] dedicated to Kherty was long since abandoned and turned to ruins. [[Medjay]] [[Bayek]] of [[Siwa]] visited the ruins and killed the [[bandit]]s that were holed up here.
