			In 1944, Scipione was ordered by his superiors at Abstergo to acquire the Shroud, a mission he believed to be a "wild goose chase" and a waste of his time. Nonetheless, he set up a meeting with a member of the Baguttiani family at a restaurant in Milan to purchase the artifact.
