			Jan Almqvist began his career as a 3D artist at ComputerHouse in Gothenburg, Sweden, creating character and unit sprites for the RTS game ''{{Wiki\|Vlad Tepes Dracula}}''. He then worked at Auran Games in Brisbane, Australia, as a lead animator on the cancelled RTS/RPG game ''Harn: Bloodlines''. In 1999, he joined Digital Animations as a 3D generalist, contributing to ''{{Wiki\|Ronaldo V-Football}}''. Almqvist worked as a character animator at {{Wiki\|VIS Entertainment}} on ''{{Wiki\|State of Emergency (video game)\|State of Emergency}}'' and a music video for the Vengaboys. He co-founded Habitat North / Opus Games, where he served as producer and creative director, but the studio eventually closed. At Headfirst Productions, he led the animation team for ''{{Wiki\|Call of Cthulhu: Destiny's End}}''. Almqvist joined Axis Animation, contributing to the short film ''Codehunters''.
